Dry wind and burning sun. Nice for you – not for your eyes!

Blue light is visible light with the highest energy wavelengths. Its main source is the sun. Blue light is harmful to the retinal cells of the eyes, and prolonged exposure to blue light can damage the eyes, so you should cover your eyes with sunglasses to avoid the harmful effects of strong light.

Drying of the eyes can also be problematic when travelling on holiday, as the dry indoor air of the aircraft, air conditioning at the hotel, and the destination’s hot and dry outdoor air will cause dryness of the mucous membranes of the eyes. Typical symptoms include itching, a feeling that there is something in the eye, watery eyes and redness of the eyes.

Food gives natural protection for the eyes and skin

Membrasin® Vision capsules containing sea buckthorn oil and lutein have natural vitamins and carotenoids that protect the eye from oxidative damage*. Lutein is an organic pigment found in the macula region located at the back of your eye. It is thought to function as a natural light filter, protecting the human eye from blue light. As the human body cannot produce lutein, it needs to be obtained through natural food sources. Leafy greens are especially rich in lutein,” says Petra Larmo, Head of R&D at Aromtech. Studies have shown a positive connection between the amount of lutein and the ability of the macular pigment to filter blue light. The dietary supplement beta-carotene, on the other hand, also protects the skin from the sun, and the good-quality fatty acids of sea buckthorn oil (Omega 3, 6, 7 and 9) help restore moisture naturally after being in the sun. In order to benefit from these positive effects, you need to use the product regularly, which means that you should start using the dietary supplement a few weeks before going on holiday.

Quick and handy relief with eye spray

Containing sea buckthorn oil, Membrasin® Vision spray is especially handy when travelling, as it can be applied directly over make-up and even if you are wearing contact lenses. A spray is also hygienic, as it allows other people to use the product, as well. The spray fits easily into a handbag. It also reduces puffiness under the eyes and is refreshing. In addition to sea buckthorn oil, Membrasin® Vision spray contains hyaluronic acid, which supports the ability of the aqueous humour to trap and retain water molecules, preventing the eyes from drying. Hyaluronic acid is also a key ingredient in many eye creams, so the spray is a convenient way to treat the skin around the eyes when travelling. Developed and manufactured in Finland, the spray does not contain any preservatives, alcohol or substances of animal origin.

To ensure the best results, combine two Membrasin® Vision products. The spray immediately relieves dry eye symptoms, and the food supplement naturally hydrates the mucosa of the eyes and supports their normal function and vitality.

*Dietary supplement: contains beta-carotene, a source of vitamin A that supports the maintenance of normal vision and skin. Vitamin E helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
